The Women Changing the Content Creation Game #IWD21

To celebrate this International Women’s Day, WritingHerWay will be posting a new blog entry every day of this week celebrating some of the incredible women in my life. Built on the foundation of intersectional feminism, and the mantra “empowered women empower women,” this blog began in 2018 with a female empowerment message in mind. In 2020, that vision was further solidified by the creation of the WHW magazine: Issue 1. Now, for the first post of this #IWD21 commemorative week, I wanted to start by mentioning all of the women who have inspired me throughout the past twelve months. From Instagrammers to YouTubers, Podcasters to writers, I’m so happy to have discovered these wonderful content creators and I hope you will be too.

Nayna Florence

Nayna Florence is a YouTuber and podcaster who creates study, lifestyle, sustainable fashion and vegan food content. After returning home from Edinburgh during the first lockdown, I was so happy to discover Nayna’s channel and haven’t stopped watching since. If you’re looking for a positive and welcoming online space, or a means in which to fill the Edinburgh void (if you’re anything like me), check out her channel ‘Nayna Florence‘ and podcast ‘Growing with The Flow.’

Katy Bellotte

Katy Bellotte is a YouTuber, podcaster, and freelance graphic designer. As a fellow creative and twenty-something, I feel as if I’ve grown up alongside Katy and her channel. Yet, as we both seemingly face a crossroads in life, I’ve found myself gravitating towards her content more than ever. If you want an aesthetic yet real, inspiring yet honest reflection of freelance life, check out her channel ‘Katy Bellotte‘ and podcast ‘Thick & Think.’

If you enjoyed this post, be sure to click the follow button and subscribe for more International Women’s Day content. Every day this week will be followed by a post about one of the wonderful people who contributed to the first issue of WHW magazine.

If you or someone you know would like to contribute to this blog or a future magazine publication, check out more information here: Project WHW.

I hope you enjoyed this post. How are you celebrating #IWD21? Let me know in the comments below.

Kate Noel

Kate Noel is a model, content creator, podcaster and actress who vlogs her life whilst also documenting her eating disorder recovery online. From her warm spirit to authentic online presence, Kate has quickly become one of my favourite YouTubers. I discovered her channel at a time when I didn’t even know I needed it and I’m so grateful I did. If you’re looking for the equivalent of a virtual hug, and other uplifting creators, check out her channel ‘Kate Noel‘ and podcast ‘Take the Cake.’

Morgan Harper Nichols

Morgan Harper Nichols is a talented artist and poet who never ceases to inspire me with her words. Her beautifully curated Instagram page has been such a comfort to myself and others during the pandemic and I’m so excited to see what she produces next. If you want to immerse yourself in short verse then check out her Instagram above.
